Paulo Dybala transfer news: Man Utd, Arsenal capitalise on Inter stalling by opening agent talks
Manchester United and Arsenal have reportedly made contact with the agent of Paulo Dybala over a free transfer to the Premier League.
The forward is available on a free after failing to agree on a new contract at Juventus. He had to take part in an emotional farewell following seven successful years with the Italian side.
Dybala has an agreement in place to join Inter this summer. But the Nerazzurri are yet to submit their proposal to his entourage, and reports in Italy claim Dybala is becoming impatient.
The 28-year-old wants his future to be finalised so he can begin sorting a potential change in living arrangements. Plus, he wants to get a full pre-season in with his new club before the 2022-23 campaign starts.
Amid the uncertainty surrounding Dybala’s future, it appears Premier League opportunities are opening up.
Dybala has seen plenty of reports link him with Tottenham in the past. But according to FC Inter News, Manchester United and Arsenal are the Prem teams keeping tabs on the situation.
Both English giants have spoken with Dybala’s agent to ask if he would be open to moving here. They also asked about Inter and whether they are still wanting to finalise his signing.
The Argentina international, who has won 34 caps so far, must now decide where he wants the next few years of his career to be at.
Paulo Dybala to choose between Italy and England
If he wants to remain in Italy, then Inter is clearly the best option. A transfer there wouldn’t be a surprise as personal terms are already done and Dybala likes Serie A.
But if a new challenge becomes his priority, then United or Arsenal could take their preliminary discussions with his agent to the next stage.
Dybala might fancy testing himself in the Prem. However, it will be tough to see how he gets into either first team.
After all, United usually rely on Bruno Fernandes playing just behind the striker, if they’re operating in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Arsenal, meanwhile, now have Gabriel Jesus up top and either Martin Odegaard or Fabio Vieira just behind him.
It will be intriguing to see where Dybala ends up before the end of the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, one United player has been backed to fill Cristiano Ronaldo’s shoes if the Portuguese ends up leaving Old Trafford.
