Sancho upgrade eyed as Man Utd ‘reach out’ to 57-goal Spain winger with star ‘leaning’ towards transfer

Manchester United are reportedly making initial enquiries over a potential deal to sign a prolific Spain winger, who looks destined for a transfer this summer.
The Red Devils are ready to back Erik ten Hag with serious cash again this summer as the next phase of his rebuilding programme begins. The Dutchman was allowed a hefty budget of well in excess of £200m last year – but the improvement on the pitch has certainly been notable.
Indeed, with a raft of stars leaving – including the likes of Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata – six new players came through the doors.
Shaken from their malaise, United already have the Carabao Cup in the bag. And they could finish the season with two more pieces of silverware. And success in both the FA Cup and Europa League will match the 2001 treble achieved by Liverpool back in 2001.
More importantly, a return to the Champions League next season will hopefully too also be secured. And in doing so, Ten Hag will be granted additional funds by which to strengthen his squad.
To that end, several stars are likely to be on their way. Indeed a report last month suggested seven names could be sacrificed to add even more money to United’s kitty.
One man who perhaps might be banking on more time to prove himself is Jadon Sancho. The winger has endured a difficult season under Ten Hag and was sent to the Netherlands earlier in the campaign to sharpen up.
And while he’s not done badly, United perhaps feel they would like more return for their money than just 14-goal involvements he has to his name during his first two seasons.

Man Utd presented with Dani Olmo transfer chance
As a result, it perhaps comes as little surprise to see Ten Hag potentially considering an upgrade for the winger.
Now, according to SportBILD, United are closely monitoring RB Leipzig winger Dani Olmo with regards a summer swoop.
The Spain winger has an impressive 57 goals to his name from 257 career appearances. His tally of 38 goal-involvements (20 goals and 18 assists) in 115 games for Leipzig is certainly noteworthy.
That record of a goal involvement every three matches has reportedly alerted Ten Hag to his availability.
And it seems a move away from Leipzig is looking increasingly likely this summer with his deal due to expire in summer 2024. As yet, the 24-year-old has shown no willingness at penning an extension.
As a result, SportsBILD claims his exit from the Bundesliga side is ‘probable’ this summer. Furthermore, there is an acceptance at Leipzig that failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League will hasten his exit.
They currently sit fourth in the Bundesliga, but lead Freiburg by just a single point.
In addition, Leipzig missing out will also see the player ‘leaning’ towards the exit door. But he will insist that any move he makes must be to a Champions League qualifying club. As previously stated, United look well placed to return to Europe’s top table next season.
Star pushing for move as asking price emerges
Ten Hag and Co are reportedly well aware of Olmo’s situation in Germany. And United are reportedly reaching out to his people to ascertain his future plans.
The report concludes that an offer of around £35.2m (€40m) will be enough to convince Leipzig to sell.
Olmo is a hugely-talented player and one that United scouts have monitored for several years.
At this stage, though, is remains to be seen if a move will come off. United are well blessed with wide forwards and Ten Hag’s priority remains signing a new No 9 first and foremost.
