Ten Hag tells club to quintuple bid for Man Utd star after ridiculous first offer; Fulham and Saudi clubs also lurking

Man Utd stars Diogo Dalot, Scott McTominay, Jadon Sancho and Fred
Erik ten Hag and Manchester United have told Turkish club Galatasaray they must increase their offer fivefold in order to sign an Old Trafford player, with Fulham and Saudi Arabian teams also interested.
Ten Hag is aiming to engineer another clear-out this summer to reshape the Man Utd squad to his liking. So far, David de Gea, Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe have all left on free transfers, while Alex Telles and Anthony Elanga have also been sold.
Telles has linked up with Cristiano Ronaldo by signing for Al Nassr in a £6million deal, and Elanga has signed for fellow Premier League club Nottingham Forest in a transfer worth £15m.
There are plenty of other players who could leave Man Utd in the coming weeks, including Harry Maguire, Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek.
On Tuesday, former striker Clinton Morrison urged Maguire to find a new club as otherwise his England career will be ‘on the line’.
And now, James Ducker of The Telegraph has provided an update on the future of Maguire’s team-mate, Fred.
The central midfielder is unlikely to pick up much game time next season as Ten Hag can also rely on Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes. As such, club chiefs have put the Brazilian up for sale.
Galatasaray, Fulham and Saudi clubs have all expressed an interest in snapping Fred up. On July 18, Turkish source Aksam revealed how Galatasaray were aiming to get a jump on their transfer rivals by submitting a €5m (£4.3m) bid for Fred.
Man Utd want £20m to sell midfielder
However, that offer was swiftly rejected. After buying Fred for £47m in 2018, Man Utd have no intention of letting him leave for such a small fee.
As per the latest from Ducker, Ten Hag and Man Utd have told Galatasaray to quintuple their bid in order to sign Fred. The 30-year-old will only be allowed to leave Manchester if a proposal worth £20m arrives.
A transfer at this price would still represent a £27m loss for Man Utd. However, receiving £20m for Fred would represent good business for Man Utd given Fred is heading towards the twilight years of his career, plus the fact his contract runs out in June 2024.
Fred’s Man Utd midfield partner McTominay has also been tipped to find a new club ahead of next season. He is high up on West Ham’s list as they try to sign a replacement for Declan Rice, who has gone to Arsenal.
But according to Wednesday’s Transfer Gossip, Man Utd could end up pricing McTominay out of a move after slapping a £40-45m price tag on his head. Even though West Ham are receiving £105m for Rice, they do not value McTominay that high.
Meanwhile, a potential Man Utd signing has decided against joining Ten Hag’s squad this summer, as per a report.
