Top Man Utd attacking target Mohammed Kudus reveals chances of joining Ten Hag revolution in blockbuster summer deal

Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus

Top Manchester United attacking target Mohammed Kudus has opened up on his Ajax future and the chances of him swapping the Dutch Eredivisie for the Premier League any time soon.

The 22-year-old frontman has been in outstanding form since returning from his equally impressive performances for Ghana at the World Cup, with Erik ten Hag believed to be keen on reuniting with his former player at Old Trafford.

Kudus found regular starts tough to come by under Alfred Schreuder. However, following the sacking of Ten Hag’s successor, Kudus has excelled since John Heitinga took the reins.

It’s thought that Ten Hag views the young forward as a perfect option to provide Antony and Jadon Sancho with stiff competition across United’s forward line.

However, when asked about his future, the player himself has revealed that his only focus is on potentially extending his stay at Ajax.

Kudus told De Telegraaf: “I am very happy at Ajax at the moment. But I will be even happier if we win the double.

“Why wouldn’t I want to renew? I play and develop well. Now it’s about negotiation and valuation.

“When the time is right, we’ll see how it goes. But that will have to be conducted with my agent. I want to focus entirely on the title race.”

Kudus reveals Everton blessing in disguise

Kudus actually came close to joining Everton last summer, although Ajax decided against allowing him to leave after already losing Lisandro Martinez and Antony to United.

And while Kudus was interested in the move to Goodison Park at that time, he believes that things have actually worked out for the better.

He added: “The fact that Ajax blocked a transfer to Everton last summer disappointed me. I thought it was time for a new chapter in my career, because I wasn’t playing here.

“But the moment the transfer market closed, my full focus was back on Ajax. The only reason I wanted to leave before that was because of my reserve role.

“I eliminated that problem myself. Everton are not doing well in the Premier League, Ajax are in the title race. And under John Heitinga I am a permanent fixture.

“I have a strong faith in God. And he has made the positive decision for me not to let the transfer go through.”

We revealed in our recent chat with trusted reporter Ben Jacobs that Kudus is one of a quartet of forward players being watched by Ten Hag in a position that the Dutchman is fully expected to bolster this summer.

United are back in action on Sunday when they host Fulham in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
