Top source confirms huge Man Utd striker bid is coming, with Liverpool plans facing ruin and Ten Hag flop to be replaced

A trusted German source has insisted a mega-money Man Utd offer for a striker part of a Liverpool succession plan is being prepared, and if accepted, a flop will be replaced.
It’s no secret Manchester United are hunting a high profile addition at centre-forward this summer. However, according to the Spanish press (as cited by Goal), so too are Liverpool.
Indeed, claims emerged the Reds hope to sign a direct replacement for the outgoing Roberto Firmino. The veteran Brazilian will leave as a free agent at season’s end and who he’ll join is becoming clearer.
Rather than rely on those already at their disposal, it was suggested Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool have ‘chosen’ Man Utd target, Randal Kolo Muani, to fill the void soon to be vacated by Firmino.
The France international, 24, has been nothing short of sensational for Frankfurt this season.
Kolo Muani has notched 30 goal contributions in 35 matches at club level and has become a regular fixture in Didier Deschamps’ France squads over the last eight months.
BILD previously reported Man Utd were mulling a blockbuster move for Kolo Muani and stated a bid of £105.2m (€120m) would be accepted. Goal report a reduced price of £88m (€100m) will actually be enough to do the trick.
United’s preferred targets are understood to be Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen. However, there’s an acknowledgement at Old Trafford neither player will be easy to sign.
Tottenham and Napoli don’t hold reputations for being tough negotiators for nothing. The one thing United fear is another protracted transfer saga like the one experienced when chasing Frenkie de Jong last year.
As such, Kolo Muani is among a cluster of high calibre alternatives, and per BILD’s senior reporter, Christian Falk, a Man Utd bid is coming.
Frankfurt warming to sale; Man Utd preparing bid
Falk revealed there’s a “growing feeling” in Frankfurt that they’ll be unable to retain their star striker beyond the summer.
Frankfurt had hoped to get one more year out of a a player who is under contract until 2027. However, Falk believes a sale this summer is becoming inevitable.
If United can lure Kolo Muani to Old Trafford, Falk believes he’ll spell the end for January loanee, Wout Weghorst.
The Dutchman was a cheap and cheerful loan signing from Burnley and while he has earned Ten Hag’s trust, he’s been found wanting in front of goal.
A return of two goals in 18 appearances will not be enough to earn him a permanent move to Manchester, per Falk.
“Everyone’s getting the feeling that it’s no longer realistic for Frankfurt to keep Randal Kolo Muani for one year more,” Falk wrote for Caught Offside.
“The player’s already come out and said it’s the first time he can think about a summer move – to a big club in particular. So, you see, Frankfurt is losing a lot of quality and this could be the reason why [manager] Oliver Glasner is considering leaving.
“Manchester United is a big thing for Muani. They don’t have the right striker for this position; look at Wout Weghorst – he’s only scored two goals for them.
“They are preparing an offer for him. He knows that and if you have United in your head, it’s hard to concentrate on Frankfurt.”
