Transfer Gossip: Cristiano Ronaldo tension grows as Man Utd annoyance claim emerges; Chelsea quoted £12m for new midfield bid

The feelings of several Manchester United players about the Cristiano Ronaldo situation have come to light in a new layer to his transfer saga, while Chelsea are preparing a fresh attempt for a midfielder with an eight-figure valuation – all in Wednesday’s gossip.
CRISTIANO RONALDO SAGA ANNOYS MAN UTD TEAMMATES
Some Manchester United players want Cristiano Ronaldo to leave after becoming “fed up” with the forward, according to reports.
Ronaldo’s future has been a significant topic of conversation for Manchester United this summer. After they missed out on Champions League qualification, he has been believed to be pushing for an exit.
Ronaldo missed much of pre-season due to personal reasons. He came on as a substitute in their opening fixture of the Premier League campaign.
Many of the clubs to be linked with the 37-year-old have ruled themselves out of the running. Therefore, there could be a bigger chance of him staying at Man Utd – who have insisted all along that he is not for sale.
But behind the scenes, several of Ronaldo’s teammates want him gone – as reported by The Sun.
It is claimed that many Man Utd players would rather the club offloaded the Portugal legend. In turn, it could protect the overall morale in the squad.
The Sun‘s source said: “It is really starting to annoy a lot of players now.
“He does have his allies in the camp but a lot are fed up with how he is going about things.”
One year remains on the contract Ronaldo signed upon his return to Man Utd last summer. A few weeks remain of the summer window to decide his immediate future.
CHELSEA BIDDING AGAIN FOR MIDFIELD TARGET
Chelsea are preparing a new offer for Inter Milan starlet Cesare Casadei, per the Evening Standard.
Casadei was recently the subject of an approach from Chelsea, despite being yet to make his senior debut in Serie A. In fact, they have fallen short with two sub-£10million offers.
According to the Standard, Chelsea see him as someone who can develop between their academy and first team, with a view to succeeding the likes of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho.
Hence, they are not yet ready to give up on the teenager. Now, they are willing to up their offer.
It has been discovered that Inter would likely accept a bid in the region of £12million. Chelsea are against the idea of the Serie A side having a buyback clause as part of the deal.
But the Blues have shown a willingness to invest in youth, as shown by their recent signing of Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa.
Soon, Casadei could follow him into the academy ranks. Although the possibility remains that Chelsea could loan the Italian to a Serie A side should they sign him.
OBSCURE FORMER PREM STAR ON FOREST RADAR
Nottingham Forest have shifted their sights to former Watford full-back Pervis Estupinan.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who name Estupinan as the next player Forest are eyeing in their pursuit of a new left-back.
A deal for Alex Moreno collapsed recently due to the player opting to stay at Real Betis. Forest are searching for alternatives, but part of their gaze is still towards La Liga.
The Mail have reported about an enquiry for Villarreal full-back Estupinan. He was owned by Watford between 2016 and 2020 but spent the entire time out on loan.
He has enjoyed two fairly busy seasons with Villarreal – including a 2021 Europa League win – so may have earned a second chance in the Premier League.
Tottenham have also been linked with the 24-year-old. However, they seem reasonably well-stocked in the wider areas of their defence.
Forest’s need may be more pressing, given they were close to signing Moreno but missed out. They have a few options in mind, but Estupinan could be one.
