Triple Man Utd exit gathers pace, with £35m Newcastle, West Ham battle coming and Everton dream dashed

Man Utd wingers Amad Diallo, Anthony Elanga and Facundo Pellistri

Three Man Utd exits – all in the forward ranks – are taking shape, with one deal poised to spark a Newcastle battle with West Ham for a £35m-rated England international, per reports.

Pre-season offers managers a chance to take a long look at the rising youngsters within a club’s ranks. If they impress, the chance to earn a spot in the first-team could await. If they falter, a loan or permanent exit often results.

According to the Daily Mail, Erik ten Hag is casting a close eye over Amad Diallo, Anthony Elanga and Facundo Pellistri this month. However, the report also details three potential exits that are rounding into shape.

Firstly, Amad, 21, is a hot commodity on the back of a breakthrough campaign while loaned to Sunderland. The Ivory Coast winger bagged 13 Championship goals to help the Black Cats finish in the play-off positions.

Relegated Leicester City are showing strong interest in the winger, as are newly-promoted pair Sheffield United and Burnley.

However, in the event Man Utd sanction another loan, the Mail state ensuring Amad moves to a club where he’ll feature regularly will be front and centre in their mind.

Logic would dictate dropping a division provides the best chance of guaranteed minutes. What’s more, Amad’s move could be the catalyst that prompts Leicester to cash in on Harvey Barnes.

Newcastle and West Ham are both sizing the one-cap England international up. talkSPORT recently claimed Barnes will cost around £35m to sign.

West Ham have cash to splash after selling Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105m. Newcastle, meanwhile, will aim to sell Allan Saint-Maximin to free up funds for Barnes. Per the Mail, it’s Newcastle who are ‘favourites’ at present after opening talks.

In any case, Leicester reportedly view Amad as a viable replacement for Barnes. If Amad is brought on board via the loan route, the greenlight for Barnes to leave is expected to be granted.

Elsewhere, Anthony Elanga is up for sale and Man Utd are understood to be willing to sever ties if £10m is bid.

Everton emerged as a credible contender to sign Elanga at the second time of asking. The Toffees previously saw a loan bid knocked back in January.

However, according to the Mail, Elanga ‘has decided on his next club, though it is unlikely to be Everton’.

The Sweden international is ‘expected to choose elsewhere in the coming days’, though the Mail don’t suggest where he’ll go.

However, other reports have offered clues, with the Telegraph and Athletic both claiming Nottingham Forest are in the running.

After missing out on Willian who performed a U-turn to re-sign with Fulham, Forest could now turn their attention to Elanga.

The final Man Utd exit that could occur regards Uruguay international Pellistri. Per the Mail, Pellistri is courting interest from Dutch side Twente.

Pellistri finally made his senior Man Utd debut last season despite arriving way back in 2020. However, he went on to make just four appearances and a loan spell to gain more experience would make sense.

With Man Utd closing in on signing a new striker in Rasmus Hojlund, Marcus Rashford will return to the wings next season.

Elsewhere, Ten Hag can also call upon Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony for the wide berths.
