Two Man Utd transfers facing ruin with Ten Hag stunned by shock sacking and rumoured £100m bid

A pair of would-be Man Utd transfers are slipping away from Erik ten Hag, though a move for the world’s best player is seemingly gathering pace, per reports.

The primary focus at Old Trafford this summer will be signing a lethal new centre-forward. Of the many strikers already linked to Man Utd, two names in particular are standing out.

Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen of Napoli are the two players in question. Both are currently at the peak of their powers and as such, will not be easy to sign.

Regardless, Man Utd will do all they can to provide Ten Hag with a potent weapon who’ll complete his forward line.

Tottenham are understood to prefer selling to an overseas side in the event they do cash in. Kane’s contract will expire at the end of next season and if talks over a new deal don’t bear fruit, a sale this summer would make sense.

The Times recently reported Spurs could accept £100m for Kane providing it’s paid up front and in full. That would go against the grain of most modern-day transfers that are paid in instalments or include add-ons to help soften the initial blow.

Osimhen, meanwhile, reportedly has an even loftier price tag of £150m. Napoli are under no pressure to sell their prized centre-forward and as such, will drive a hard bargain.

The fact Tottenham and Napoli are both known as tough negotiators will make Man Utd’s life doubly difficult.

Now, a pair of reports from Caught Offside and Football Insider have ramped up the difficulty of both deals for Man Utd.

Shock sacking dampens Kane hopes

Firstly, trusted BILD journalist, Christian Falk, explained why Bayern Munich’s chances of snapping up Kane have soared.

The German giant shocked the world when sacking Julian Nagelsmann last week. Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel was quickly installed and Falk believes Bayern will kick off the new era with a major move in the market.

The Bavarians are long-time admirers of Kane and haven’t yet replaced Robert Lewandowski who joined Barcelona last summer. Spurs’ desire to sell outside of England if forced to cash in will also work in Bayern’s favour.

Falk wrote for Caught Offside: “Tuchel will have one shot – that could be an expensive one! This could now be Harry Kane.

“When a new manager is coming in, of course, there’s the likelihood of players going out in addition to coming in.

“He wants a lot of players, so they have to get money in. Ultimately, the chance to get Kane in is bigger now that Tuchel has joined the club and I think there will be something in the summer now.”

Chelsea readying nine-figure Osimhen bid

In regards to Osimhen, Football Insider claim Man Utd are facing stiff competition from Chelsea who are once again prepared to put their money where their mouth is.

FI report Chelsea are ‘prepared to bid £100m’ for Osimhen this summer who has emerged as their ‘top priority transfer target’.

A lack of potency in front of goal has plagued the Blues all season. Their woes have eased of late with Joao Felix and Kai Havertz finding form, though if they’re to get back to challenging for top honours, a more reliable striker is required.

Osimhen is seemingly the man they’ll turn to and are prepared to go toe-to-toe with Man Utd in the money stakes.

In the event both Kane and Osimhen elude Man Utd, they may have an unlikely fall-back option in the form of arguably the world’s best player…
