Chelsea told what to do to snare Newcastle star with value skyrocketing, according to insider

Bruno Guimaraes, Newcastle United, November 2022

Fabrizio Romano has revealed what interested sides, including Chelsea, need to do to sign Bruno Guimaraes, as his value has risen massively.

Guimaraes has been one of the starring figures at Newcastle United since joining from Lyon in January. The Brazilian has been an excellent addition to the Magpies’ side.

His star quality has turned him into one of the club’s most cherished assets.

Indeed, he scored five goals and chipped in with an assist in his first season with the club. This campaign, he has been one of the best performers in the Premier League.

In 11 games this season, Guimaraes has scored three goals and provided two assists. His influence, among others, is one of the reasons Newcastle are in such good form.

The Magpies are currently third in the Premier League, and have lost just one game. Along with that, Guimaraes has pushed himself into the category of being one of the best players outside the ‘big six’.

There could be a time in his career not too far into the future that he is playing for one of those sides.

Indeed, Guimaraes has been courted by Chelsea of late.

Guimaraes price on the rise

Whether or not a transfer to the Blues will happen remains to be seen. Guimaraes recently revealed that he wants to become a “legend” at St James’ Park.

That means a transfer is currently unlikely. Furthermore, there are other challenges faced by any side wanting to snare the midfielder.

Indeed, transfer insider Romano has revealed any club wanting to sign him would have to part with a hefty sum.

“Now, I think if some club wants to sign Bruno Guimaraes – and many top clubs want Bruno Guimaraes – it’s around £80-85m, probably,” he said on House of Champions.

While Chelsea might not have too many problems paying that for a player, it might be a bit early in Guimaraes’ Premier League career to do so for him.

Fee could well be paid

Should he carry on performing, it’s not unlikely that one or two sides would seriously consider paying that sort of cash for Guimaraes in the future.

He has shown that he is a very capable player in the Premier League. He is also, clearly, one of Newcastle’s most important players.

Should they continue doing well, interest in their star man will remain.

However, with their form at the moment, they should not have to worry about big stars jumping ship. They themselves could force themselves into the conversation around the league’s best teams if they keep up their form.
