THOMAS MULLER TRANSFER TALK FOR NEWCASTLE

Newcastle are reportedly set to open talks over a deal to sign Thomas Muller – with Bayern Munich seemingly ready to let him leave THIS MONTH.

The iconic Germany star has spent his entire professional career with Bayern, winning more trophies than you and I have had hot dinners.

But SportBild, via the Daily Star, reckon his time at the Allianz Arena is finally set to come to an end.

The player, now 32, is very much in the autumn of his career and has continued to impress this season in a new, deeper role.

Making his name as a forward, Muller has since dropped into the midfield and has registered an incredible 18 assists from 20 Bundesliga games this season. He’s also weighed in with six goals.

And despite remaining a key player under Julian Nagelsmann, Muller is now approaching the final year of his contract.

And with Newcastle reportedly making their interest clear, it’s claimed Bayern will finally now sell if a big bid comes their way.

Nagelsmann feels Muller can continue playing at the top for “two to four more years” – but a sizeable offer may tempt them to sell.

SportBild reports that PIF want Muller as their headline-stealing signing of the January window.

And they are seemingly ready to offer Muller huge wages to accept the move to Tyneside.

In his 14 seasons in Bayern’s first team, Muller has amassed 610 appearances, scoring 223 goals.

Muller isn’t the only player Newcastle are looking at either.

Newcastle won’t sign Diego Carlos as Sevilla and Newcastle can’t agree on a price

As per reports on Wednesday, both the Magpies and Chelsea are vying to sign Niklas Sule. That’s after it was confirmed that the 26-year-old defender will leave this summer as a free agent.

Bayern chief executive Oliver Kahn has now revealed the player’s decision is final. “We made him an offer, which he told us he didn’t accept. He wants to leave the club at the end of the season,” the former keeper said (via the Daily Mail).

This gives both Chelsea and Newcastle a great chance to sign a top-quality defender for no outright fee.
