AC Milan are confident they can beat Arsenal, Liverpool and Brighton to the signing of Simon Kjaer, claims a report.
The Denmark centre-back is a target for newly-promoted Brighton, while Liverpool and Arsenal are also understood to be tracking the 28-year-old.
Sky Sport Italia claim Milan are trying hard to tie up a deal for the Fenerbahce man and they are confident they are heading the queue for his services.
AC Milan have already recruited Mateo Musacchio for £15million from Villarreal, but they are still keen on adding another centre-back to their ranks
The report does however suggest that Milan may have to sell some players before sealing a deal for Kjaer, meaning the move is far from concluded and Monaco are also in for the player, claim Fanatik.
Reports earlier this month from Turks Voetbal claimed Arsenal had seen a £10.6million for Kjaer rejected.
Fotomac then reported that Arsene Wenger was considering increasing his offer for the player with Fanatik suggesting that Fener had increased the price tag of the Kjaer from £13million to £17.5million.
Kjaer has two years left on his Super Lig deal but does look set to move on this summer.
