Diogo Dalot has left Manchester United to join AC Milan on a season-long loan, the two clubs have confirmed.
The full-back has been at United since June 2018, but only managed to make 16 Premier League appearances in his first season and four in his second.
Dalot has found himself behind Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw in the pecking order for either full-back role.
The Portugal Under-21 international will now spend the season in Italy with Milan to gain more experience. Neither club mentions an option to buy in the contract.
Milan have been chasing Dalot for a few weeks, with the player keen for more gametime than he has managed at Old Trafford. Their efforts to sign him on loan have now materialised.
Dalot becomes the second United player to head to an Italian side on loan during this transfer window, after midfielder Andreas Pereira made a temporary move to Lazio.
In total, Dalot has made 35 appearances for the Red Devils to date, scoring one goal in that time – against Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup last season.
He will wear the number five shirt during his time with Milan.
Dembele ready to join Man Utd
Meanwhile, United are also looking at potential signings before the transfer deadline. One of their main priorities is a right-sided attacker.
According to the latest reports, they have now moved closer to persuading Ousmane Dembele to join.
The Barcelona winger has become their main alternative after their pursuit of Jadon Sancho became no closer to completion.
Dembele was initially keen to stay at Camp Nou, but has reportedly now decided to move to Old Trafford on one condition.
