Czech starlet gives four good reasons why West Ham ‘on him’ this summer

Adam Hlozek, Sparta Prague, Czech Republic, May 2021

Reports that West Ham are eager to sign Sparta Prague teenager Adam Hlozek have been ramped up after his sensational four-goal display on Saturday afternoon.

The 18-year-old has been turning heads with his performances for Sparta this season and has now enhanced his reputation even further. Lining up for the Czech Republic side, he scored four goals in 23 first-half minutes against Brno in the Fortuna liga. The winger bagged on nine, 14, 26 and 32 minutes, with his side 6-1 up at the break.

Sparta rate him extremely highly and the club took to Twitter after the game to have their say. The official Sparta Twitter account jokingly tweeted: “This [Erling] Haaland kid is the new Hlozek”.

He was substituted at half-time and, incredibly, there were no further goals after the interval at Stadion Letna. The Hammers were first linked with Hlozek by 90min back in April and it seems as though their interest remains.

And French journalist Salim Baungally gave his views on a potential move to the East End after his quadruple strike. It seems as though David Moyes is still keen while also holding an interest in Alex Kral.

The RMC Sport host tweeted: “For this reason, West Ham is completely on him (and also the Czech from Moscow Alex Kral) by diligently controlling Soucek and Coufal.”

Despite operating as the wide man of Sparta’s attacking force, Hlozek has scored 15 league goals in 2020-2021. And that is after he scored seven from 34 outings last term.

Hlozek could light up London Stadium

With Jesse Lingard set to return to Manchester United, the hunt will be on to boost the Hammers’ attacking ranks this summer. Many players have been linked and it remains to be seen if they do go for youth or a more experienced player.

Barcelona are willing let Ronald Koeman leave in order to bring back Pep Guardiola as Manchester City turn their attention to Jack Grealish, while Arsenal and Brighton remain locked in talks over a potential swap deal, all in today's transfer chatter.

Despite his goal return, Hlozek is not a striker and it is obvious that the Londoners need to fill that void. But he could be a player to get the fans (hopefully) out of their seats in the coming years.

He has youth on his side and appears at home playing for Sparta, having also made one appearance in the Europa League. Having compatriots Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal at the club would help smooth his transition if he did sign up.

Tomas Soucek TEAMtalk

The teenager has been selected for this summer’s delayed European Championship. It will be the perfect opportunity to put himself in the shop window for a potential transfer.

Liverpool have also been mentioned in connection with the youngster. And Sparta will hope he does well to see his value increase ahead of any possible move.
