Adkins to make late check on duo

Goalkeeper Murphy was substituted after just 23 minutes of Tuesday’s Carling Cup win against Port Vale after trapping a nerve in his right arm, but an X-ray revealed no serious damage and he could be in contention to face Rovers.

If Murphy is ruled out, Sam Slocombe is on standby to make his first appearance in the Championship.

Leading scorer Hooper missed the victory against Vale with a hamstring injury and is rated as doubtful, so Jonathan Forte could partner Paul Hayes in attack once again.

Fellow striker Ben May remains sidelined with an ankle ligament injury and Garry Thompson will also play no part against Sean O’Driscoll’s side due to a foot injury.
