Influential agent Kia Joorabchian has fired a verbal volley at the former recruitment chief at Arsenal, and hinted his client Willian will be announced as a Gunners player ‘soon’.

Arsenal have had a decidedly mixed success rate in the transfer market in recent times.

Stellar successes like the acquisition of talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have been offset by startling failures such as Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

In the last two years, the club has signed several players represented by super agent Joorabchian.

Defenders David Luiz and Cedric Soares are both on the books, while impending free agent Willian could soon arrive.

Joorabchian’s clientele have enjoyed mixed fortunes at The Emirates, but speaking to talkSPORT, the agent pointed the finger of blame squarely at Sven Mislintat.

Mislintat was the club’s head of recruitment between January 2018 to January 2019 – a period that included Aubameyang’s purchase.

But several other names who have either flopped or who appear set for an exit were also bought, including Lucas Torreira and Mkhitaryan.

Defending his impact on Arsenal, Joorabchian said (via FootballLondon): “People forget about the previous guy, Sven.

“He made a bunch of, I don’t like to use the word, but, c**k-ups with players he brought in at very, very large numbers.”

Portuguese starlet Joelson Fernandes is another player under the Joorabchian umbrella.

But despite rumours linking him to Arsenal, the agent claimed the reports were “untrue”.

“We have never ever spoken to him about Arsenal,” Joorabchian said. “It is so untrue.”

Willian, however, is set to arrive in the coming days, with his agent confirming: “He had a fantastic seven years at Chelsea.

“For now, I can’t say, but we know where he’s going and it will be announced soon.”

Real Madrid offer Gunners exciting striker exchange

Arsenal could have an interesting decision to make after a Spanish report claimed Real Madrid will look to offer one of their strikers in a swap deal for Alexandre Lacazette.

The Gunners appear to be moving in the right direction under Mikel Arteta.

The Spaniard took over the managerial reins in December, and delivered the club’s 14th FA Cup a fortnight ago.

Despite the cup success, however, questions remain over the Gunners’ league form.

Eighth place was their lowest top flight finish since 1995, and Arteta could remedy their issues via the transfer market.

Transfer funds are expected to be restricted once again, however, meaning Arteta may have to get creative.
