Real Madrid’s interest in Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz has been confirmed by the player’s agent Alvaro Torres.

Torres recently revealed there was no release clause in Ruiz’s contract amid renewed transfer speculation from LaLiga giants Madrid and Barcelona.

The Napoli sensation has been a target for a number of clubs across Europe, including Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City after his impact in Naples over the last two years.

In January both Jurgen Klopp and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were said to be plotting moves for the talented 23-year-old with El Desmarque claiming Liverpool had switched their attention to Ruiz after failing to lure Isco to Anfield.

Liverpool will have tough competition for Ruiz though, with Torres admitting Madrid are sniffing around his client.

“It is obvious that there are many important clubs that have asked for him, he has spent three seasons at a high level,” Torres told Canal Sur Radio.

“Yes, it is true that Real has taken an interest, we said it to Napoli, but at the moment he must concentrate on his team.

“In the summer we will see. He is a midfielder who will mark an era.”

In March, Rai 2 (via CalcioNapoli24), claimed Man Utd were also set to muscle in onm Ruiz.

Torres spoke to Spanish newspaper Marca about his future.

“There have been many changes in the club this season, it’s been a difficult year for Napoli,” said Torres.

“A renewal? We have set aside negotiations for a while, until the end of the season. There are very important clubs that have asked for information, and we have already informed Napoli.

“There is no release clause in his current contract. I really don’t know what Ruiz’s value is at present.”

Spain star Ruiz, who has been with Napoli for two seasons, having joined from Real Betis in the summer of 2018 for €30m, is under contract until 2023.
