Agent disgusted, as Solskjaer faces fury for treatment of Man Utd star

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Man Utd TEAMtalk

The agent of Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek says he could not have imagined a worse possible start to life at Old Trafford for his client.

The Dutchman is yet to start a Premier League match under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Indeed the £38.5milion signing played 23 minutes against Crystal Palace in the Red Devils’ first game of the season.

Last weekend, Van de Beek was only a late entry into the clash at Brighton and the 23-year-old’s current predicament has forced an angry reaction from his representative.

Sjaak Swart told VoetbalPrimeur: “A substitute, I don’t like it at all. I couldn’t do it myself, standing in with four minutes to play.

“I have to say he did three more good things,’ said Swart. The penalty, where the winning goal came from, it came from him.

“Normally they should’ve lost 7-1. Brighton hit the post and bar five times. They have a nice team, but that should not happen to Manchester United.”

As Swart pointed out, Van de Beek has made a fantastic impact when he has featured. He played a key role in winning United the last-minute penalty to sink the Seagulls’ fightback.

Previous to that, the midfielder was a shining light for the Red Devils in a dismal display against Palace.

What’s more, Van de Beek is United’s only signing of the transfer window. However there could be a flurry of activity in and out of Old Trafford as Monday’s deadline looms.

United are chasing Porto left-back Alex Telles, with two bids reportedly submitted for the Brazilian.

Meanwhile, players will also leave the Red Devils, with Andreas Pereira close to sealing an initial loan move to Lazio.

United have been chasing a right-winger for several months, with a deal for Jadon Sancho looking increasingly unlikely.

While the search for a wide man goes on, Solskjaer could yet bring in a striker though.

Reports claim the Old Trafford club are in discussions with two big-name strikers.
