Agent explains why Man Utd can still attract top stars this summer

Italian agent Federico Pastorello has revealed why he believes Manchester United are still capable of attracting top names this summer.

Pastorello replaced Mino Raiola as Romelu Lukaku’s agent last year and could, ironically, end up negotiating a move away from Old Trafford for his client this summer.

However, Pastorello insists that United will not have a problem bringing in top names despite their failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

He told Sky Sports News: “I think Manchester United will have a lot of success in the summer bringing in players.

“There will be a lot of work for Mr Woodward but they will be able to convince the top players to come because the brand is amazing, one of the best in the world.”

Pastorello, son of a former football club owner, began his career at the age of 22 but the job specification has been changed dramatically from the days of overseeing a straightforward move from club to club.

“Everything changed with the Bosman and the players have much more power,” he added. “Our position took a lot of power and we were representing the player interest and the club was more afraid.”

He also expects United to be among the busiest for both incomings and outgoings this summer, although Real Madrid are ready to make a massive impact after a woeful season domestically and in Europe.

Pastorello added: “One of the top movers, in my opinion, will be Real Madrid. For two summers they did not spend much but they have called back Zidane and there will be a big revolution.

“The team needs to be younger so there will be a domino effect from that. I expect a very interesting market.”
