Emil Forsberg: Targeted by Klopp

The agent of Arsenal target Emil Forsberg has blasted his current club RB Leipzig, claiming they are “destroying his dreams”.

Forsberg played a big role in the Leipzig team which finished in second place in the Bundesliga, behind champions Bayern Munich.

The Sweden international scored eight times amassed 22 assists in the league last season, attracting interest from Liverpool, Arsenal and AC Milan.

Earlier in the week, RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff issued a fresh warning, insisting neither Naby Keita or Forsberg would leave this summer.

Forsberg’s agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, responded to those claims by blasting the club.

“I’ve never experienced an arrogant attitude like this,” he told Bild. “I know how long Emil is under contract at Leipzig. And I also know what he owes to the club. But it’s a fact: Emil wants to make the next step in his career.”

“Me and Emil have always accepted the club and the contracts with them,” Cetinkaya said. “When Emil went there, the ambition was to take the team to the Bundesliga and then the Champions League. He has been involved with them all the way and broke records in their shirt.

“Both me and Emil have spoken to the club about his ambition, his future and his dreams. They didn’t buy him for €15million, but for €3million and he signed a new contract and paid them back 10 times.

“They will have to live with the fact that they are destroying his dreams.”
