Super-agent Mino Raiola has come to a staunch defence of his star client Paul Pogba, whilst also levelling criticism at Manchester United for failing to quell misinformation.

Pogba has made his intentions to leave Old Trafford clear in recent weeks, with Real Madrid looking the likeliest of suitors.

Several cash-plus-player deals have been touted, with renowned stars the likes of Isco, Gareth Bale and even Vinicius Junior mentioned as possible makeweights.

In an effort to seemingly accelerate Pogba’s departure, Raiola spoke to talkSPORT’s Jim White regarding his client’s professional conduct and United’s lack of action concerning the spread of misinformation.

“The player [Pogba] has done nothing wrong,” said Raiola. “He has been respectful and professional in every way and always.

“The club has known his feeling for a long time.

“It is a shame other people only like to criticise without the right information, and I am also sorry that the club does not take any position against this.

“Hopefully there will be soon a satisfying solution for all parties.”

Pogba has been a divisive figure in Manchester since his £89.3million move from Juventus in 2016.

Moments of mercurial genius have been interspersed with a perceived lack of effort; something the Frenchman has received great criticism for from pundits and fans alike.

Never far from the headlines, Pogba sparked further controversy yesterday when he appeared to clash with Jesse Lingard on the first day of their Australian tour.
