Aaron Ramsey’s agent has dropped a hint over the future of the Arsenal midfielder, who is currently in negotiations over a new contract with the north London side.

The Welshman is in the final year of his contract with the Gunners, and is believed to have some reservations over his overall value to the first team.

Ramsey was substituted early against Manchester City, before being dropped for the game game against Chelsea.

He rerturned to the fold Arsenal’s win over West Ham, completing his first 90 minutes of the season in the process.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery’s decision to chop and change his starting XI cast doubt in Ramsey’s mind over whether he truly has a future under the Spaniard, which is believed to have led him to confront his new boss.

The Gunners boss said: “I spoke with him last week. I said, ‘I want you focused only on training and only on the match, you show us the capacity to help the team’.

“The contract is another thing for his agent and the club, but we want – and I need – his focus only on training, on the match and his performance each day.

“I want the player to be focused only on Saturday. So that our players give our supporters quality and energy.”

On Twitter on Tuesday morning, Ramsey’s agent Avid Sports and Entertainment Group posted: “Hoping for some big news today!”

The tweet doesn’t specifically mention Ramsey, and the agency do represent more players than just the Welsh international.

But, Ramsey is one of their prized clients, and the midfielder’s ongoing contract negoatiations haven’t been out of the news recently.
