Agent of Brazil star flies in for talks with Man Utd over €30m move

Alex Telles

Manchester United are reported to have opened talks with the representatives of Alex Telles as they close on the signing of a new left-back.

United’s summer business finally got underway last week when an initial €39m deal for Donny van de Beek was struck.

The Red Devils have been advised that they need at least two more signings this summer if they are to close the gap on Liverpool. As such, there is a breakthrough, of sorts, in negotiations for Jadon Sancho.

As well as attacking Sancho to his attack, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also in the market for a new left-back.

Top of their wanted list appears to be Real Madrid’s excellent Sergio Reguilon.

Reguilon enjoyed a successful campaign on loan at Sevilla in 2019-20, culminating in winning the Europa League. He played against Man Utd in the semi-final.

However, there is no space for him back at Real Madrid, because Zinedine Zidane prefers Marcelo and Ferland Mendy.

Therefore, Reguilon is likely to leave the club during this transfer window – potentially for as little as £18m. In turn, that will help Madrid raise funds for any signings they want to make.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Madrid have now offered Reguilon to United.

It appears to be an open goal for United over a deal to sign the 23-year-old. He was on Chelsea’s radar prior to their signing of Ben Chilwell.

But Reguilon appears willing to move to the Premier League and would represent a bargain capture at just £18million.

All the same, United’s mind is yet to be made up over the invite – seemingly as they have their own target in mind. As such, it’s reported United had already initiated talks with the agent of Porto star Telles.

And a deal for the Brazilian appears a more likely occurence at this stage. That’s because Portuguese outlet A Bola claim the player’s agent is in Manchester on Monday for talks over a potential move.

Telles has been a standout performer for Porto ever since joining them from Galatasaray into 2016. He has 24 goals from 194 appearances.

Rated at €30m (£27m), Telles would also represent another excellent capture for United.

Fati hopes suffer knockout blow for United

United’s remote hopes of attracting Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati have been extinguished by the youngster’s father.

Ansu Fati TEAMtalk

The highly-regarded forward has been linked with United after their attempts to lure Jadon Sancho back to England stalled.

Sport recently claiming United had submitted  a €100million bid for the Spain star.

The Times then claimed in July United had increased their offer for the player. The second approach was said to be €100m up front with a further €50m in incentives.

Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu has confirmed rivals’ interest in the talented forward, but said Barca would not entertain selling him.

Now any distant dream of luring Fati to Old Trafford have been ended by the 17-year-old’s father.
