The father of unsettled Liverpool starlet Rafael Camacho has reportedly met with Real Madrid to discuss their shock interest in the player.
Camacho is looking for a way out of Anfield after admitting he was unhappy with Jurgen Klopp’s treatment of him, claiming he was not being given enough game time, and when he was, he was being played out of position.
The 18-year-old favours an attacking role, but was used as a right-back in his only start this season – in the FA Cup loss to Wolves. Liverpool’s opponents that day are said to be among the clubs interested in taking Camacho away from Anfield, already boasting an impressive Portuguese contingent.
However, Wolves have been stunned as Real Madrid have entered the race for Camacho.
According to A Bola, backing up claims from fellow Portuguese source Record, Camacho’s father, who also serves as his agent, has met with Madrid to hear about their interest.
It is thought that Camacho, whose Liverpool contract expires in 2020, would be loaned out straight away if signed by Madrid – with Benfica and Sporting CP both happy to take him back to his homeland.
A Bola have previously claimed that Liverpool are reluctantly willing to accept offers of just £8m for the teenager, who turned down the lucrative offer of a new five-year contract in January and was also refused the chance to leave on loan.
