The agent of Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey has spoken out on the player’s future, persuading clubs to bid for him.
The Ghanaian international has been linked with Manchester United as a replacement for the outgoing Ander Herrera, but the Red Devils face competition from Italy, where Inter Milan are interested.
However, Partey’s agent has confirmed that there have been no bids for the 25-year-old, who has four years left on his contract – but didn’t exactly sound like he was against the player moving to pastures new.
“I can say that right now, I haven’t talked to anyone, even if Inter are a top club,” Daniel Jimenez told Passione Inter.
“There’s a 50m release clause in his contract, a figure that’s cheap for a player like Thomas.
“We’ll wait for the season to end and then we’ll see.”
Arsenal and Manchester City have also been tipped to move for Partey, but the player himself seems happier to stay in Madrid.
He recently told Cadena COPE: “I’ve grown up in Atleti and I am sure I will stay here.
“I don’t know of another place that will understand how I play like they do here.”
Meanwhile, the man Partey could replace if he moves to United, Herrera, has fired a parting shot at his teammates on their failures this season. Read the full story here.
