Agent says winger wants out at Man Utd, two European giants circling

Tahith Chong is planning to leave Manchester United amid interest from Italian giants Inter Milan and Juventus, his agent has said.

Chong joined United in the summer of 2018 after leaving Dutch giants Feyenoord and was expected to make a huge impact at Old Trafford.

However, the Netherlands Under-21 international winger has not been a success at the Red Devils and is out of contract at the Premier League club at the end of the season.

The 20-year-old has played just 24 minutes in the Premier League and 164 minutes in the Champions League for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side so far this season, while during the 2018-19 campaign, the Dutchman managed to get only 37 minutes in the league and 10 in the Champions League.

Chong has been linked with Italian powerhouse Inter Milan and Juventus, with reports claiming that his agent has met with the Nerazzurri.

The winger’s agent has said that although the United hierarchy see a future for Chong at Old Trafford, manager Solskjaer does not have him in his plans yet.

Erkan Alkan has added that Chong plans to part company with United in the January transfer window.

“He has different views on Tahith than the leadership,” Alkan told Voetbal International.

“A coach thinks about himself, I think about my player. He has come to a point where he feels that he is not going any further. Then it’s time to look further.”

United are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 34 points from 23 matches, six points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, who have played 24 games.

The Red Devils will be back in action on Wednesday evening when they take on Burnley at Old Trafford in the league.
