Arsenal striker ‘seduced’ as Serie A giants make firm approach
Alexandre Lacazette could be on his way out of Arsenal after reports claimed he is open to the idea of joining Juventus.
Lacazette has been heavily linked with a departure from the Emirates Stadium in recent months. The striker has two years left on his contract, and Mikel Arteta believes there is still time to clarify his future.
However, rumours of an exit refuse to fade away. According to Le10 Sport, Juventus are interested – and Lacazette is willing to consider the move.
The Italian giants are in the market for a new centre-forward this summer, but are not the only Serie A side interested in Lacazette. Inter Milan has been mentioned in the past as another possible destination.
Nonetheless, Lacazette seems to be warming to the idea of joining Juventus. The report claims that he has already opened talks with the Turin-based outfit, who have a head-start on rivals for his signature such as Atletico Madrid.
Le10 Sport add that contact has not just been made between Juventus and Lacazette, but with Arsenal as well. The French outlet say the prospect of a new challenge “seduces” the 29-year-old.
A move to Juventus would allow Lacazette to reunite with ex-Arsenal teammate Aaron Ramsey. He would also find himself playing alongside compatriot Blaise Matuidi – two factors that could help to convince him.
LACAZETTE WANTS AUBAMEYANG ANSWERS
Lacazette is not the only Arsenal striker whose future is in doubt. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract is up even sooner, and speculation about his future is rife.
And his strike partner is eager to discover what the future holds for the Arsenal captain.
“He is already one of the legends [at Arsenal] because of the amount of goals he’s scored in so few games,” Lacazette said.
“But to be honest, we stopped talking about this [his future] because at the beginning it can be funny.
“But long term you can start to be annoying because you want something that is not maybe the way we’d like and I don’t want to be the guy being a bit annoying.
“So we don’t really speak about his future. I’m just going to wait like everyone else. And I just hope he’s going tell me before the press.”
