Alexis Sanchez does not intend to return to Manchester United this summer and has reportedly instructed his agent to get a deal done with Inter Milan.

The Chile striker will remain with Inter until the end of the Serie A season in August, but the 31-year-old is expected back in Manchester soon after.

Both Inter and Man Utd are still involved in the Europa League, which restarts on August 10, and it remains unclear which team he will be eligible to figure for in the European competition.

Still, United will want the player back at Old Trafford so he does not get injured, if he does not sign permanently for Inter.

Now, though according to FC Inter News Sanchez’s priority is to remain with the Serie A side.

He was sent on loan to Inter last summer but had been unable to establish himself due to injury issues.

However, since the restart of Serie A due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Sanchez has hit form with the Inter source, via Sport Witness, claiming he has been putting in ‘superlative performances’.

Sanchez wants ‘good exit’

That has apparently taken the eye of coach Antonio Conte, who is now pushing for the club to keep him permanently.

The former Arsenal forward is now set to ask United “for a good exit” so that financially he does not have to ask Inter’s owners for such a big contract.

His agent Fernando Felicevich is working on a solution for the attacker with the suggestion that his wages could be spread over a three-year deal so they can avoid taking a big hit all at once.

The report claims United are willing to sell Sanchez and are believed to be asking for at least €20m for him, while Inter want a deal done at around the  €10-12m mark.
