Allegri wants 5 players as he names transfer budget to take Arsenal job

Massimiliano Allegri reportedly wants Arsenal to pledge a £200million transfer kitty before he becomes their new boss.

The 50-year-old Italian is said to have told the Gunners that he needs cash guarantees, as he plans to spend on five players to bring them up to speed, according to the report in the Sun on Sunday.

Allegri is believed to be willing to quit Juve at the end of the season but only if he feels he make Arsenal major contenders again, domestically and in Europe.

Sources close to Allegri told The Sun that his ambitions have to be matched and that while he realises he has plenty of talent to work with at The Emirates, he believes the team lacks discipline and defensive solidity.

The report goes on to state that Allegri will bring in a mix of big-money additions and shrewd signings to make Arsenal a force again.

One player who could arrive at The Emirates this summer is Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy, who is being tipped to join the Gunners or Liverpool.
