Ancelotti confident key Everton duo will be fit for Merseyside derby

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti expects Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne to be fit for his table-topping side’s hotly-anticipated Merseyside derby against Liverpool.
Centre-half Mina missed Colombia’s match in Chile in midweek with a thigh niggle but he was back in training on Friday, meaning new arrival Ben Godfrey may have to wait for his chance. Full-back Digne had an injury scare with France but also looks ready.
Allan and Andre Gomes are back to challenge for midfield places. But the likes of Mason Holgate, Jonjoe Kenny, Jarrad Branthwaite and Jean-Philippe Gbamin remain out.
Ancelotti admits he has been impressed with his side’s start to the season. But he has urged them to match Liverpool’s intensity this weekend.
“Everyone knows the importance of the derby and how important the game is for this period,” said Ancelotti.
“We started the season really well and the feeling in the dressing room is good.
Important period for Everton
“It is a really important period for us and we want to keep our form good for the future.
“Saturday is an exciting game and a fantastic challenge. It will be good for us to have this kind of test.
“We have to be confident and happy to play this game.
“Liverpool play with a lot of intensity and quality and we have to pay attention.
“But we have to be confident to be able to show our quality in the game.”
