Andreas Pereira loan shelved by Mourinho

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly told Brazilian youngster Andreas Pereira he wants him to be part of his first-team squad.

The 21-year-old has impressed Mourinho in pre-season and the Portuguese boss intends to use him rather than send him out on loan again, according to The Sun.

Several clubs are believed to have enquired about taking the midfielder on a temporary basis this summer, such was his impact on loan with Granada last season.

Mourinho though is understood to have spoken to Pereira on the tour of the US and said as things stand he wants him to be part of the first-team squad.

However, the addition of  Nemanja Matic may well change Mourinho’s mind on that matter, but at the moment Pereira is happy with the way things are going at United.

“For me I think it is going well,” he said last week.

“I am doing my best, I want to get into the team this season.

“I want to help my team and hopefully we can achieve a lot this season.”

Pereira played the second half of the 3-0 win over Valerenga and he has featured in all of their pre-season games so far – against Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake.
