The Iceland international was ruled out of last Saturday’s abandoned game against Barnsley by a groin injury but returned to training on Thursday.

On-loan Manchester United right-back David Gray (hip) is also back at Home Park after returning from training with the Red Devils reserves earlier in the week.

In Gray’s absence, Sturrock recalled on-loan full-back Darcy Blake and Hungary international defender Krisztian Timar against the Tykes.

Midfielder Jim Paterson (hamstring) is likely to miss out again while Benin international defender Reda Johnson has recovered from a knee injury but lacks match fitness.

Experienced defender Chris Barker (calf) is still on the road to recovery and is not expected back until at least the end of the month or early in the new year. Striker Bradley Wright-Phillips (knee) is also ruled out.
