The arrival of a £70million-rated forward could harm one teenager’s chances at Chelsea, according to the latest reports.
Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Christian Pulisic has been strongly linked with a move to England over the past 18 months and is understood to have told team-mates that he will swap the Bundesliga for the Premier League.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly ready to go head-to-head with Maurizio Sarri in the race to land the 20-year-old, who was the USA’s standout performer in their friendly defeat to England last week.
Klopp is well aware of Pulisic’s talents, having been in charge at Dortmund when the American arrived in Germany in 2015, but Chelsea have since emerged as the favourites to land the player – who has also been linked with Tottenham in the past.
However, the Daily Express suggests that the Blues are in pole position to secure Pulisic’s signature, but it could also spell bad news for another highly-rated Chelsea youngster.
According to the Sun, 18-year-old Callum Hudson-Odoi is no closer to signing a new deal at Stamford Bridge, with a possibility that the pursuit of Pulisic is deterring him from doing so.
The teenager will undoubtedly have concerns over his playing time in west London and his subsequent development, though Chelsea are looking to win major honours ASAP under Sarri.
