Arsenal and Chelsea re-ignite interest in £40m Bundesliga speedster

Arsenal and Chelsea are both interested in signing a £40m Bayer Leverkusen star this summer, a report claims.

Leon Bailey was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in the January transfer window, with Liverpool, Manchester United and the Gunners all reportedly interested.

Rumours then emerged that the winger could feature in England’s World Cup squad, however that speculation never came to fruition.

Now, with two weeks left in the transfer window, Bailey’s name is back in the headlines once again, perhaps.

The Sun claim that the Jamaica-born forward is desperate to move to the Premier League, and that Leverkusen will sell if they can get £40m.

Bailey has previously admitted that it is a matter of “when” rather than “if” he will play at the highest level.

“Leverkusen is perfect for me,” he told Bild in February. “I want to develop and then I can take the next step.

“When I move to a big club, the people there will want to know me. I want to make a name for myself at the highest level.”

The two clubs currently mentioned as being interested are Arsenal and Chelsea, with a possibility that the Blues are looking at Bailey as a replacement for Willian.
