Mikel Arteta has praised the Premier League for taking decisive action after he tested positive for coronavirus, insisting he is already on the mend.
The Arsenal boss became the first Premier League manager to be affected by the virus this week, joining Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi on the list of those affected.
All top flight and EFL action has since been suspended until the 3rd April, with some Premier League players self-isolating as a precautionary measure.
Arteta has now issued his first public statement since it was revealed that he had coronavirus, applauding the football authorities for taking a sensible approach to the situation.
“Thanks for your words and support,” he tweeted. “Feeling better already.
“We’re all facing a huge & unprecedented challenge. Everyone’s health is all that matters right now. Protect each other by following the guidelines & we’ll come through this together.
“Well done PL for making the right decisions.”
