Manchester United have slapped a £28million price tag on one of their defenders amid interest from Premier League rivals, according to a report.

The Red Devils have told interested clubs that they must pay the same as what United paid Southampton in order to land Luke Shaw.

Arsenal and Chelsea head the list of English clubs interested in the full-back, while Barcelona have also been linked with a shock move.

Shaw is out of contract in 2019 and faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford after being publicly criticised on multiple occasions by manager Jose Mourinho.

However, it appears Mourinho has not yet made up his mind on whether or not to sell the England international.

An Old Trafford source reportedly told The Sun: “The club are pretty adamant they want all their money back paid to Southampton.

“Jose hasn’t decided whether to get rid of him yet but his young age and market prices justify the position.”

Shaw meanwhile is apparently willing to stay and fight for a place, should the Portuguese boss choose to keep him.
