Frequently touted suitors Arsenal and Everton have been put on alert after Crystal Palace identified their ideal £40m replacement for Wilfried Zaha.
The future of Zaha at Selhurst Park has been an ongoing saga spanning several years.
Everton thought they had done enough to secure his signature last year, while Arsenal were also heavily linked.
Ultimately, Zaha remained with The Eagles, though speculation has once again begun to ramp up over an exit.
Despite his fears regarding a clause Man Utd inserted into his contract scuppering a move, The Sun have added fresh fuel to the fire.
The newspaper report that Palace have already pinpointed their perfect replacement – Watford’s Ismaila Sarr.
Sarr initially struggled in his first few months in England, but quickly became an attacking force after settling in.
His showcase moment came versus Liverpool, where a two-goal virtuoso performance handed the would-be champions their first league defeat.
His displays weren’t enough to save The Hornets from relegation, but did leave several Premier League clubs considering an approach.
The Sun note Palace are ‘keen’ on the 22-year-old, who would smash their record transfer fee in a deal worth around £40m.
The club had monitored Sarr 12 months prior, but decided against acting after Zaha chose to remain at Selhurst Park.
With a suitable replacement already in the pipeline, the chances now appear greater that Zaha could finally depart.
Six Arsenal axed for new arrivals?
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta will be allowed to make major changes to his Arsenal squad this summer, with as many as six first-teamers set to leave.
The Gunners suffered a difficult season, finishing eighth in the league, but ended with a flourish by winning the FA Cup on Saturday.
The victory over Chelsea at Wembley has strengthened the Spaniard’s position within the club.
And to avoid a repeat of the struggles of much of the campaign, Arteta will need to invest this summer.
There will be limited funds available, however, so a number of departures will have to come first before any incomings.
Now, a report from the Daily Mirror speculates at which six stars could be set for the chop.
