Thomas Meunier has hinted that he would like to stay at Paris Saint Germain, despite reports linking him with Arsenal.
The Belgian full-back is out of contract at the end of the season, and is yet to start a game in Ligue 1 this term, leading to fresh speculation over his future.
According to Calciomercato, Arsenal are set to compete with Juventus for the defender on a free transfer next summer – but a move may not be in Meunier’s mind.
He told RMC Sport: “My philosophy and mentality have never changed. I have been saying since my first steps here at PSG that I would be devoted to the club until the end of my contract or more. [Thomas Tuchel] will be able to count on me.
“Sometimes it is a bit frustrating and the happiness in football is in playing, but choices have been made and the coach will take his own decisions.”
It is not the first time Meunier has commented on his desire to stay at PSG, revealing earlier this month that even a few months on the bench would not lead him to pursue a January transfer.
However, Calciomercato say that a renewal for Meunier is not a priority for PSG, so the right-back may be forced to consider his options next summer.
Per the report, Juventus eye him as an ideal replacement for Joao Cancelo, who they sold to Manchester City this summer in a swap deal with Danilo, while Arsenal could strengthen their defence by bringing him in on a free in 2020.
