Arsenal could look to launch a double raid on Juventus which would see them secure an upgrade on Shkodran Mustafi, according to reports in Italy.

Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, who only made 15 Serie A appearances last season, has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time with Arsenal and Chelsea understood to hold a long-term interest.

And Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness) claim that Arsenal have ‘set their sights’ on the €40m-rated Rugani and have offered to take the 24-year-old on a two-year loan deal.

Arsenal mean business this summer, and after their signing of Nicolas Pepe from Lille with the club reportedly looking for an upgrade on current centre-back Shkodran Mustafi.

The report in Gazzetta dello Sport continues by saying that Juventus have rejected the Gunners’ bid for Rugani but that the north London side could come back in.

One way, according to the report, that Arsenal could try and tempt the Old Lady to do business is by a ‘return to the office by entering the purchase of Sami Khedira in the package’.

Khedira has been linked recently with a move to the Emirates Stadium, although he may have to take a sizeable pay cut to join.
