Wojciech Szczesny: Future in doubt

Wojciech Szczesny admits he wants ‘inspirational’ Leicester to win the title, despite still being an Arsenal employee.

The Polish goalkeeper is currently on loan at Roma after being allowed to leave the Emirates following the arrival of Petr Cech last summer.

Despite his loyalty to the Gunners, Szczesny is delighted to see Leicester continuing their march towards the Premier League title.

“No one in football can explain the Leicester miracle,” he told Sky in Italy.

“Even though I support Arsenal in the Premier League, I’d like to see Claudio Ranieri’s side win it. They’re an example and an inspiration to everyone. It’s exciting to watch them play.”

Szczesny has previously spoken of his willingness to make permanent his loan deal in Rome, but the 25-year-old admits he still doesn’t know where he will be playing next season.

“Everyone knows I’m really happy here,” he said. “I’d like to be able to tell you about my future, but I don’t know what it holds for me.

“I’ve expressed my intentions to the two clubs and now it’s up to them. I have to decide what’s best for my career.”
