Arsenal keeping close eye on strike ace following sublime CL showing

Arsenal are keeping tabs on RB Salzburg striker Hwang Hee-chan ahead of a potential summer move for the player, according to reports.

Hwang has netted seven goals and laid on 10 others for the Austrian side in 11 only 11 appearances this season, saving some of his best showings for the Champions League.

The South Korean international scored one and assisted two others in Salzburg‘s 6-2 win over Genk on matchday one, before scoring against Liverpool at Anfield after getting past Virgil van Dijk with impressive skill.

According to the Daily Mail, such performances have alerted Arsenal and fellow Londoners Crystal Palace to his services, with both said to be keen on what they have seen so far.

The newspaper says that Hwang, whose contract runs out next summer, could seek pastures new if his form continues, meaning the Gunners could swoop for his signature at the end of the season.

As well as his form in Europe’s elite club competition, Hwang has scored five times and assisted six other goals in the Austrian top tier.

In other Arsenal news, former boss Arsene Wenger has opened up on why he thinks Serge Gnabry – who is now starring for Bayern – left North London in 2016.
