Arsenal have jumped ahead of Chelsea and Manchester United in the race for a Bundesliga winger, according to a report.

The Premier League trio were linked with a move for Jamaica international Leon Bailey in the summer, but he eventually joined Bayer Leverkusen on a five-year deal.

However, reports have suggested that Arsenal and Chelsea have not given up on signing Bailey, with the Blues already seeing a £22million bid rejected.

According to the Mirror on Sunday, Arsene Wenger is ready to sanction a £30million move for the 20-year-old in order to beat London rivals Chelsea to his signature.

The report states that Antonio Conte is more likely to turn attentions to Everton outcast Ross Barkley and Monaco forward Thomas Lemar in January.

Wenger sent scouts to watch Bailey play twice last week, and saw him score the winner at Borussia Moenchengladbach.
