Real Madrid will entertain offers for two superstars wanted by Arsenal and Liverpool, with the ultimate goal freeing up enough money to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer, per a report.

Mbappe, 24, can legitimately stake a claim to being the number one footballer on the planet right now. The French megastar never disappoints for both club and country, though a change of scenery could be on the horizon.

Indeed, Mbappe is out of contract at the end of next season and as yet, has shown no sign he’s willing to extend his stay with PSG.

As such, the spectre of losing the world’s best player for nothing is hanging over the Parisian side. It’s a scenario they simply will not allow to unfold.

“My position is very clear. I don’t want to repeat it every time: if Kylian wants to stay, we want him to stay. But he needs to sign a new contract,” said PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

“We don’t want to lose the best player in the world for free, we can’t do that. This is a French club.

“He said he would never leave for free. If he changes his mind today, it’s not my fault. We don’t want to lose the best player in the world for free, that’s very clear.”

PSG’s stance has been made crystal clear, with Fabrizio Romano confirming if Mbappe does not sign a new deal this summer, PSG will cash in while they still can.

Spurious links to Premier League sides have emerged, though the long-held belief is Mbappe will move to Real Madrid if and when the time comes to leave France.

Los Blancos are currently without a superstar centre-forward having seen Karim Benzema leave for Saudi Arabia. Real had hoped to get one more season out of Benzema before moving for either Mbappe or Erling Haaland in 2024.

With Benzema gone and Mbappe potentially on the market, their plans could be brought forward a year.

Mbappe in, Tchouameni or Valverde out?

Despite Mbappe’s contract status, signing him will still be an astronomical undertaking from a financial perspective.

As such, big names will have to depart and according to news in Spain, players wanted by Liverpool and Arsenal are among those on the chopping block.

Speaking to Radio Marca, Juan Ignacio G-Ochoa stated: “They (Real Madrid) will make a very big investment for Kylian.

“They could sell [Federico] Valverde or [Aurelien] Tchouameni and enter €80-€100 million if an offer arrives.”

Despite Declan Rice preparing to undergo a medical with the Gunners today, Arsenal have been speculated to be in for a second midfielder in the event Thomas Partey leaves for Saudi Arabia.

To that end, Football Transfers revealed Arsenal’s interest in Tchouameni, with the potential move backed by both Rio Ferdinand and Sol Campbell.

Liverpool too have shown interest in Tchouameni having unsuccessfully bid for the French destroyer before he opted to join Real Madrid from Monaco last summer.

The Reds are in the midst of a full scale midfield revamp this summer and both they and Arsenal also admire Southampton’s Romeo Lavia. However, the potential availability of Tchouameni will no doubt ring alarm bells at both clubs.

Elsewhere, Liverpool have also been heavily linked with Uruguay international Valverde.

Indeed, TEAMtalk learned in late-June that Liverpool made enquiries with Madrid and representatives close to the player.

A subsequent report in Spain claimed Liverpool are prepared to bid €90m (approx. £77.7m) for the 24-year-old.

Valverde’s public stance has always been he’s happy in Madrid and does not wish to leave. However, if Real are serious about Mbappe, the decision may be taken out of Valverde’s hands.

Adding fuel to the exits fire is the fact Real have spent big on another midfielder this summer in the form of Jude Bellingham.

What’s more, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric have signed one-year extensions, while Eduardo Camavinga is also in the mix.
