Arsenal have missed out on signing one of their leading targets to replace Aaron Ramsey.
In March, it was reported that Eibar midfielder Joan Jordan had been identified by Unai Emery as a player who could fill the void left by Ramsey when the Wales international moved to Juventus upon the expiration of his contract.
Jordan, 24, was a key figure for Eibar last season as they finished a respectable 12th in La Liga, contributing four goals and four assists. With just a year left on his contract, a €15m deal looked like an inviting proposition for Arsenal, but they have been beaten to it.
Marca reported earlier that Jordan had been spotted in Seville, and the playmaker has since signed a four-year contract, with the option for a fifth. Sevilla officially confirmed the transfer this evening.
It means that Emery will have to turn his attention elsewhere, and with Lucas Torreira also linked with an exit from the Emirates Stadium, it seems the midfield will be a priority for the Gunners this summer.
