Arsenal midfield target unhappy and ready for January transfer

Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey is unhappy in the Spanish capital and could move on in January, claims a report.

Partey has emerged as a target for Arsenal, according to Ghanasoccernet on Tuesday morning and that link could become even more plausible after Marca reported the player is not happy in Madrid.

The 25-year-old is far from happy with his role so far this season and they claim “he could move on in the winter window”.

Apparently Atletico coach Diego Simeone rates the midfielder highly, but Rodri’s arrival has made it difficult for the coach to give the Ghana international much game time.

Partey has managed just two La Liga starts this season after 50 appearances, including 28 league start last term and his limited action so far could see him explore a move away in January.

Apparently, Arsenal boss Unai Emery has identified Partey as a potential transfer target, having also kept tabs on him during his time in charge of Sevilla.

Paris Saint-Germain, who could lost Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer, have also been tipped to make a move for the player.

Spanish newspaper AS claimed that Atletico were prepared to let the player leave in February 2017, when he had a release clause of just over £20million written into his contract.

He has since penned a new contract to tie him to the club until 2023 and his buyout clause is believed to have risen significantly.
