Arsenal reject £16million defender bid but invite better offer
Arsenal are understood to have rejected a £16million offer for defender Calum Chambers from Crystal Palace, report the Telegraph.
Chambers spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough but impressed despite the Teessiders’ relegation from the Premier League.
However, he is one of a number of fringe players the Gunners are prepared to sell this month as they attempt to mould a squad to return to the Champions League.
The report claim that Arsenal are looking for a fee closer to €20million, but would rather sell the 22-year-old than sanction another loan deal.
