Arsenal: Second favourites to win Premier League title

Arsenal are now as short as 12/5 to win the Premier League after beating Manchester United, but Manchester City remain the odds-on favourites.

Alexis Sanchez scored twice and Mesut Ozil another as Arsenal blew United away in the opening 20 minutes at Emirates Stadium on Sunday to climb above Louis van Gaal’s side into second in the Premier League table with a 3-0 win.

It saw the odds on Arsene Wenger’s men to win the title shortened to between 12/5 and 11/4, making them clear second favourites ahead of United, who can be backed at a best price of 8/1 and are only at 11/2 with the stingiest bookmakers.

Manchester City, meanwhile, are widely available at a best price of only 8/11 after Sergio Aguero’s five goals helped them to a stunning come-from-behind 6-1 win over Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Despite suffering yet another defeat at the weekend, this time against Southampton at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea remain fourth favourites to retain their title at odds of between 14/1 and 25/1.

Liverpool can be backed at a best price of 100/1 after sacking Brendan Rodgers, with Jurgen Klopp the strong favourite to replace the Northern Irishman in the hotseat at Anfield.
