Arsenal are chasing highly-rated Real Betis midfielder Dani Ceballos, who has a release clause in his contract of £9.2million, according to reports in Spain.

The 19-year-old star has come under the radar of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who has sent scouts to regularly check on the Betis star this season.

Ceballos was part of the Spain squad that won the UEFA European Under-19 Championships in Greece this year and he’s won seven caps for the Under-21s.

And Spanish website Fichajes claim Arsenal are keen to activate the release clause in the young midfielder’s contract, which was set before his rise to stardom.

He’s played 61 times for Betis since his debut in 2014 and he’s now a regular in their team that was promoted back to La Liga this season.

Ceballos’ performances prompted Betis to offer him a new five-year-deal in October but he it is understood he is yet to sign the deal.

But the reports claim Wenger may have to act fast to secure the teenager with both Atletico Madrid and Napoli also tracking the player.

The release clause in the player’s contract reportedly stands at £9.2million but could potentially rise to £11.5m with add-ons and bonuses.
