Mesut Özil: Not committing future with Gunners yet

Mesut Ozil says he doesn’t want to leave Arsenal and claims manager Arsene Wenger is a big reason for him being at the club.

Throughout Tuesday Arsenal star Ozil was reported to be on his way out of Arsenal if Wenger stayed at the club. But later in the day the German international rubbished the reports.

“Have seen the media reports today. Arsène Wenger was a big reason for me joining Arsenal – this hasn’t changed,” said Ozil on Twitter.

Ozil has been in sparkling form for Arsenal this season, scoring five goals and contributing 18 assists – more than any other player in the Premier League.

The Germany playmaker is likely to be in the World Cup winners’ XI when they host England in Berlin on Saturday.
