Arsenal star Perez out for 6-8 weeks with ankle injury

Lucas Perez will miss “six to eight weeks” with an ankle injury, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed.
Perez, who joined the Gunners from Deportivo La Coruna in the summer transfer window, was taken off after 72 minutes in their 2-0 EFL Cup victory over Reading
“We lost Perez for a while, ankle injury. He will be 6-8 weeks out,” Wenger confirms.
And Wenger wasn’t happy about the circumstances in which the forward got injured and believes Reading’s Danzell Gravenberch should have been red carded for his challenge on Perez.
“He’s absolutely gutted because it’s an injury coming from nowhere and a stupid one. It was a kick, a deliberate kick.
“It was not needed,” he lamented.
Meanwhile, the Frenchman confirmed that Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud would be fit to face Sunderland on Saturday, but he was waiting on fitness reports on three other key individuals.
“We have a few uncertainties about Walcott, Monreal and Cazorla – they have tests today,” Wenger continues.
