Top Arsenal attacking target wants move to rivals Tottenham
Ryan Fraser would prefer to join Tottenham Hotspur when he leaves Bournemouth this summer, according to reports.
Fraser will be one of the most in-demand free agents when his contract expires at the end of the season, even though his form has dropped in 2019-20.
The Scotland winger contributed 14 assists and seven goals in the league last season, and while he has managed just four and one respectively this time around, clubs will still be attracted by the possibility of signing him for free.
With funds not readily available at Arsenal, he had been outlined a cost-effective target for Mikel Arteta’s side – who have been tracking him since his stellar 2018-19 campaign.
However, Football Insider claim that he would actually rather join their London rivals Tottenham.
The report suggests that Fraser has told friends that he wants to move to a team of Champions League quality, and Tottenham appeal to him more.
Like their rivals Arsenal, Spurs have not been known to splash the cash in recent transfer windows, and it is suggested he could be a bargain replacement if Erik Lamela is sold.
It seems impossible that Fraser will stay at Bournemouth, given his continued reluctance to commit to a new deal, so either of the London rivals could take advantage of the situation.
Liverpool and Manchester United had been linked with the 26-year-old in the past, but those interests appear to have cooled – clearing the way for either Spurs or the Gunners.
